Common Entrance Test which is popularly known as CAT is a National Level Entrance Exam monitored, conducted and scrutinized by the most popular university that is the IIM (Indian Institute of Management). They are conducted on a rotational basis. Its structure is that of an aptitude test written by undergraduate management students who are looking forward to entering the most popular MBA institutes. CAT is a default examination that should be taken to enter the IIMs, not only IIM other diverse universities consider CAT score for offering admissions and scholarships. CAT Registration 2018
- Candidates will register for this exam via online mode through the website.
- CAT Application Form 2018will be released from the second week of August 2018.
- Last date for registration will be till the third week of September 2018.
- Go through the official website of CAT Click Here.
- Enter your registration details and register yourself.
- A User ID and Password will be generated after registration.
- Fill all the required details like personal, academic, programmes& other relevant details.
- Upload the scanned images of photograph, signature & other required documents.
- The correction facility in CAT Application Form will be provided in the 4th week of September 2018.
- Candidates are required to pay the application fee through online mode only.
- Don’t forget to take a printout of the application form for further use.
Application Fee
- The application fee will be Rs. 1800/- for General / NC-OBC candidates.
- SC/ST /PWD candidates will be required to pay Rs.900/- as an application fee.

Eligibility Criteria
The detailed eligibility criteria to apply for CAT 2018 exam is given here:
- Qualification: Students must have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from any recognized college or university.
- Percentage Criteria: In the qualifying exam, students must have secured minimum 50% marks for general and 45% marks in case of SC, ST and PwD candidates.
- Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam or who have completed the degree requirements and waiting for the result are also eligible to apply.
- Other Qualification: CA/CS/ICWA professional degree holders are also eligible to apply.
CAT Exam Pattern 2018
Candidates can check the CAT exam pattern from below:
- Exam Mode: This exam will be organized on digital or Computer Based Test (CBT).
- Exam Duration: The total exam duration will be 180 minutes. Sixty minutes duration has been allotted to complete each section.
- Type of Question: The questions will be multiple choice type and subjective type.
- Question: The question paper will comprise of total 100 questions.
- Marking Scheme: Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
- Negative Marking: For multiple choice questions, one mark will be deducted for a wrong answer and for questions other than MCQs no marks will be deducted.
CAT Syllabus 2018
- There will be not any such fixed syllabus for CAT examination.
- Candidates may attempt the mock test to understand the syllabus and exam pattern.
- TheCAT syllabus will comprise of four sections, i.e. Quantitative Ability or Mathematics, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability & English and Logical Reasoning.
- Questions will be asked from the above-mentioned topics.

CAT 2019
IIMs will conduct the CAT exams as an entrance test into their esteemed universities. It is an examination conducted on the national level rotational basis. Not only IIMs other universities also consider CAT grades and marks as their entrance exam.
Download CAT 2018 Admit Card
- Only those candidates will be able to get the admit card who will successfully submitted their online application form.
- CAT 2018 Admit Card will be provided to students through online mode in the fourth week of October 2018.
- Candidates will download the CAT hall ticket by entering their User ID and Password.
- The admit card contains details like Name of the candidate, Test date, User ID / Registration Number, PWD status, etc.
- It is mandatory to bring the admit card at the examination center on the day of the examination.
CAT 2018 Answer Key
In the second week of December 2018, IIM is going to release the answer key. The answer key is like the name suggest is the document that will contain all the correct answers of the questions asked in the examination. Students participating in the exams will get the answer key online, answer key is used by the students to verify their answers and get an idea of how well they have performed. If the candidates are dissatisfied with their results or have a doubt they can give their objections until the second or third week of December 2018.
CAT Result 2018
Candidates will be notified with their results during the second week of January, they will be notified through their individual login ids or through their official website. CAT 2018 Result will be popularly released through the online mode. Students can check their results through their login window. You should take a print out of the result as it will be needed for future use.
CAT Cut-Off
Students get selected in the IIMs and various other colleges depending on the cut-offs. Higher your marks higher are your chances of getting into a prestigious university. CAT Cut-off are calculated with various facts taking into consideration like the number of students, exam difficulty, availability of seats, etc. They will also be released by IIMs. Cut-offs are different for different categories like NC-OBC, ST, SC and DA/Pwd.
CAT 2018 Admission
The admissions will start after the results are out and students are ready with their documents. Each IIM have their own cut-outs, procedures and eligibility criteria for the admissions, so carefully read them before applying. They will be majorly based on the cut-off released by the IIM.
